Looks like Morrissey is taking a page right out of This Is Spinal Tap, which had one of the main characters listening to the Namesake audiobooks, where works of famous authors are read by other celebrities with the same surname. (…works of Washington Irving read by someone called “Dr. J.”) For the singer’s upcoming memoir, David Morrissey, who stars as The Governor on TV’s The Walking Dead, has provided the narration for the audiobook version.
Titled simply Autobiography, the former Smiths singer’s book will be released in the United States on December 3, 2013 in hardcover and Kindle ebook, with the David Morrissey-narrated audiobook coming on December 21, 2013.
The paperback and Kindle editions for the UK are already available, but there will be a Special edition Hardcover, which contains more photos of Morrissey, released in the UK on December 5, 2013 by Penguin Classics.
Born Steven Patrick Morrissey in 1959 in Manchester, England, the singer/songwriter who goes solely by Morrissey co-founded and fronted the band The Smiths from 1982 to 1987, and then pursued a solo career which is still going strong today. In Autobiography, Morrissey tells the story of his life story from his chilhood through till the present.
