Bryan Singer Reveals ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ For 2016
  |  @   |

We haven’t even seen how X-Men: Days Of Future Past will do at the box office, but director Bryan Singer is already announcing the film’s sequel. In a recently released tweet, Singer hashtagged two words: #Xmen and #Apocalypse, which was followed by 2016. Pretty self-explanatory. We will be getting a film, possibly based on the Age of Apocalypse storyline to hit theaters in 2016.

Like DOFP, AoA has a lot of time travel involved. In the ’90s animated series, Cable is one of the more prominent time travelers that goes up against Apocalypse. Considering how they use time travel in Singer’s version of DOFP, I wonder how they will explain how someone from a even more distant future travels back in time. The original story arc spanned various X-Men related titles, all featuring how the timelines have been altered by everyone’s actions.

For those that don’t now, Apocalypse was one of the X-Men’s most dangerous adversaries. Considered to be the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse possessed a plethora of mutant powers ranging from immortality to molecular alteration. Basically one of the most powerful mutants to exist in the X-Men universe.

Details are sketchy, but the rumor is that the film would be hitting theaters May 27, 2016. We’ll still have to wait confirmation from Fox, and update you as soon as more information comes out.
