When the 21 Jump Street reboot / relaunch / remake I don’t think anyone expected to enjoy it as much as they did, but thanks to some incredibly witty writing (including some very meta commentary on remaking movies) and some great performances the movie found a very receptive audience.
Now, the upcoming sequel 22 Jump Street has a new trailer out which promises more of the same laughs as Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reprise their undercover cop roles, this time in college, and more commentary on movie sequels in general and even the first film courtesy of Nick Offerman’s opening lines.
Check out the NSFW red band trailer for 22 Jump Street below, which opens in theaters June 13th, 2014.
Along with Tatum, Hill, and Offerman several cast members from the original return as well including Ice Cube, Rob Riggle, and Dave Franco, plus new-to-the-series Jillian Bell (Workaholics). The writers and directors of the original return here as well.
Do you think movie magic can be made twice with this one?
