‘Thor: The Dark World’ Blu-ray Includes Next Marvel One-Shot ‘All Hail The King’
  |

Thor: The Dark World was one of the most fun times to be had at the theater last year and another not-so-rare case of a sequel surpassing the original on nearly every level. The movie will be hitting Blu-ray next month, so obviously it’s high time that a list of the bonus features we can expect be released. These supplements were recently rated by the British Board of Film Classification and the Blu-ray is set to include the usual audio commentaries, deleted and extended scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes, a first look at the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and a gag reel.

Plus, since this is a Marvel Studios release, it looks as if we’ll be getting the latest Marvel One-Shot short film, which is titled All Hail the King and runs a reported 16 minutes.

Each Marvel One-Shot has been better than the last thus far, so I’m naturally excited about All Hail even though its plot remains a mystery. One theory from Bleeding Cool is that the short could bring back Ben Kingsley in his role as the Mandarin (sort of) from Iron Man 3 since the actor had revealed in an October interview with the Belfast Telegraph that he had reunited with several members of that movie’s crew to film “a secret Marvel project” that he couldn’t elaborate on any further.

Since the first One-Shot appeared on the Blu-ray of the original Thor back in 2011, each short has not been directly related to the events of the movie it had been included with as a bonus feature, with the exception of “Item 47” from the home video release of The Avengers. Therefore, it stands to reason that All Hail the King will possibly have nothing to do with Thor: The Dark World. Judging by the title though, the short could have something to do with the latest cinematic adventure of the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) and revolve around his duplicitous brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston). If you’ll recall, Loki had a strong desire to be a king. Saying any more would take this article into spoiler terrain and I would rather you see the movie first, because it is really that good.

Thor: The Dark World will make its Blu-ray debut on February 25, 2014. You can pre-order it here.
