Is This The ‘Alien’ Video Game We’ve All Been Waiting For?
  |  @   |

A new video game based on the hit Alien movie franchise is on the way! I know, I know. This is not something that has gone well in the past. But stick with me for a bit.

The new game is titled Alien: Isolation, and it goes back to the roots of what made Ridley Scott’s 1979 original classic so terrifying. Instead of running around shooting aliens, as you have in the previous game attempts, this game is a survival horror. There is only one alien. THE alien. And you do not want to come face to face with it.

Continue below to read a description of the game and see the first trailer, as well as a lengthy chat about the game with more peeks at the gameplay.

Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alienâ„¢, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother’s disappearance.

As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.

Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.

Experience persistent fear as a truly dynamic and reactive Alien uses its senses to hunt you down and respond to your every move.

Immerse yourself in the detailed setting of Sevastopol, a decommissioned trading station on the fringes of space. Encounter a rich cast of inhabitants in a world scarred by fear and mistrust.

Hack systems, scavenge for vital resources and craft items to deal with each situation. Will you evade your enemies, distract them or face them head on?

The game will be available sometime at the end of this year on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. You can follow the game at its official website.

So what do you think, gamers of the world? Will this finally be the Alien video game we’ve all been waiting for, or will we once again be let down?

  1. The game looks absolutely fantastic and I am really looking forward to it. As I watched the above “Reveale”, Clive there on the left says that we don’t know what happened to the Nostromo. Um, yeah we do … Ripley blew it to hell. I like the idea of going back to the Nostromo but lets get the story straight fellas. Lets all go back and watch Alien on Blu-Ray.
    Good on ya guys.
