Eliza Dushku On Voicing She-Hulk In ‘Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.’
  |

Eliza Dushku has the reputation for taking on characters that don’t let much get in their way. From playing Faith on Buffy The Vampire Slayer to being the voice of Catwoman in Batman: Year One, she seems to enjoy characters who are far from timid. She is continuing in that vein by giving a voice to She-Hulk in the new animated series Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. shown on Disney XD in the United States and premiering this week on the Canadian network Teletoon.

Playing She-Hulk is a role she clearly relishes, as she recently told the Toronto Sun:

Honestly, animated or not, if someone says they want me to play She-Hulk, I’m like, ‘Hell, yes!’ I wouldn’t flinch.

I’ve always been a crazy fan and I feel like we’re kindred spirits in a way. She’s got the tomboy thing, she’s crazy competitive, she’s one of my favourites, so it was no question.

Dushku’s father was a fourth grade teacher and administrator in Boston for much of her childhood, but he did briefly work at a baseball card shop that also sold comics. As the only sister to three brothers, trading baseball cards and comic books was something that let father, daughter, and brothers bond. Playing She-Hulk is something that gives her a certain sense of childhood nostalgia:

I was a pretty ballsy little kid who grew up with the boys, streets of Boston, was competitive and wanted to do everything they did. Her role is so familiar to me, growing up in this family of Hulks.

New episodes of Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., which also features the voices of Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, Clancy Brown as Red Hulk, Ben Diskin as Skaar, and Seth Green as A-Bomb, can be found in the Marvel Universe block on Sunday mornings on the Disney XD network in the U.S. and Fridays at 7:30pm ET/PT on Teletoon in Canada.
