You’ve all heard the story of Midas, the man with the golden touch (not to be confused with Goldfinger, who was also the man with the golden touch)? Imagine a world where not only was Midas a real person, but also where everything Midas touched turned to gold; not just cups and food, but the very earth beneath him, and even the air he breathed. Imagine he turned the entire world into gold. Now imagine you’re an space traveler in the future and you hear a legend of a planet that is basically one big ball of gold. The first issue introduced readers to Fatty and the rest of his crew, as they look for the source of power that transformed the world. In this second issue, we learn more about the crew, why they’re looking for Midas, and what they plan to do once they find it.

The Midas Flesh comes to us from writer Ryan North (Adventure Time) and artist Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb. The second issue of the 8-issue miniseries is out on Wednesday, January 22nd, and we’ve got a preview of the first six pages, along with two covers by John Keogh and Aaron Diaz.
