Today begins the Chinese New Year, so from now through Sunday, February 2, 2014, the Disney California Adventure park at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, will be celebrating the Year Of The Horse with some special events.

Since it’s the Year Of The Horse, one of the steeds, Finn, from Disneyland’s own Circle D Ranch will be part of a procession of performers through Paradise Gardens. Also, visitors to the theme park this weekend will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Finn, who reportedly is very friendly and loves to have his picture taken.

For the event, Finn, who is relatively new to the Disneyland Resort, will be wearing a special saddle blanket that’s adorned with the Chinese symbol for good fortune.

A variety of performers as well as some favorite Disney character will also be part of Disneyland’s Happy Lunar New Year Celebration this weekend. For those of you who, like me, enjoy special snacks for these occasions, there will be a special Year of the Horse sourdough bread available.
