The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding this summer with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, and Hasbro is getting the toy line to support the film all geared up for a July 2014 release ahead of the film’s August debut. Everyone is waiting to see the film’s first trailer, which is scheduled to be released February 18th, but you can bide your time by checking out photos here below from the toy series, which Hasbro presented this weekend at Toy Fair 2014 in New York City.

The scheduled toys consist of several line-ups of various sizes, including the Battle Gear 2-pack of 2.5″ figures, a 5″ scale series, and the Legends series which is based on a 6″ scale. No matter the line-up, each will include all five of the film’s main heroes – Star Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon – and an assortment of supporting characters including Korath, Ronan, and Sakarian.

Of particular note is that the Battle Gear and Legends line-up includes a Nova figure. Rumors have been floating around that Guardians of the Galaxy could set-up a spin-off solo Nova movie. Additionally, the Legends line-up includes an Iron Man figure in an armor not yet seen in the film universe, helping to bridge the more-familiar Avengers storyline to Guardians of the Galaxy at least in toy form. Again, rumors have come up from time to time that Iron Man could make a cameo in the film, and the toy certainly helps to add fuel to that fire.

Aside from the figures, Hasbro is also releasing several role-play items, which you can also check out here below. These include a Rocket Raccoon mask, a Star Lord mask and blaster set, and a Star Lord quad blaster.
