Trailer For ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ From Director Of ‘Sinister’ Looks To Terrorize (Video)
  |

When Scott Derrickson came out with Sinister back in 2012, the director proved his worth in the realm of horror, bringing viewers some incredible scares via a crate filled with rolls of chilling 8mm film. Now the director and writer is back with his latest entry, Deliver Us From Evil, which explores evil in its most ethereal form and continues to build on the trend of bringing “based on true events” stories to the big screen.

The first trailer for the movie, which stars Edgar Ramirez, Eric Bana and Olivia Munn, was recently released and it shows definite promise in unleashing dread upon the masses. You can check out the trailer, as well as the full synopsis here after the jump!

Synopsis

New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes.

He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city.

Deliver Us From Evil, which is based upon the book that details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases, is set for release on July 2, 2014.
