‘Battlestar Galactica’ Movie Finds A New Writer
  |  @   |

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about the planned Battlestar Galactica movie being developed over at Universal Pictures. Bryan Singer was attached to direct at one point, and A Mighty Heart screenwriter John Orloff was working on the script.

Things were quiet for a while after that, but with word that a new writer has been hired to work on the screenplay new life has been breathed into the project. Universal has tapped Transcendence writer Jack Paglen to work on the script.

This new Battlestar Galactica will be a complete re-imagining of the story, so it will likely have no ties to the original TV series created by Glen Larson or the more recent Syfy hit from Ronald D. Moore. That said, Larson will still be involved as a producer.

In addition to writing Transcendence, Paglen is also committed to pen the sequel to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.
