‘V/H/S’ Director In Talks For Next ‘Friday The 13th’

It’s being reported that producers Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes may have found their director for the next installment in the Friday the 13th franchise.

It’s being reported that David Bruckner has entered into negotiations for the movie, which has already has a cozy Friday the 13th release date in 2015 set. Bruckner wrote and directed 2007’s The Signal, and wrote and directed a segment of the found footage horror anthology V/H/S titled “Amateur Night,” in which some guys meet some girls at a bar and bring them to a hotel where things don’t go quite as planned.

Details about the movie are unknown at the moment, but this news makes things interesting. There have been rumors that the producers might try to shake things up a bit by making a found footage take on Friday the 13th; hiring someone like Bruckner would most certainly make sense if that is in fact what they’re planning.

There’s also the question of Jason Voorhees. There’s been word that producers weren’t even sure if they’d use the slasher movie legend in the next movie or not, absurd as that sounds. It’s nearly impossible to think that, in the end, that hockey mask won’t be staring back at us in the new movie.
