Maester Pycelle From ‘Game Of Thrones’ In ‘Empire Strikes Back’ & ‘Indiana Jones’ (Images)

BuzzFeed has posted one of their exhaustive lists, this time for “49 Things You Never Knew About Game Of Thrones.” Now, if you’re familiar with the HBO series, then it’s likely that you already know a lot of the facts on the list, since the information has been circulating online for a few years now.

For instance, Sophie Turner, who plays who plays Sansa Stark, adopted the dog that played her direwolf; the “horse heart” Daenerys eats was made out of a gummy bear–like substance; Peter Dinklage is vegetarian; and George W. Bush’s head was on a spike in Season 1.

But, there was one item on the list that totally blew my mind — 79-year-old Julian Glover, who plays the seemingly frail Grand Maester Pycelle (who you’ll recall was told by Cersei Lannister during the Purple Wedding to feed the leftovers to the dogs), had recognizable roles in both Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Take a look at the images from those films here below.

In Empire Strikes Back, Julian Glover played General Veers, the Imperial officer under Darth Vader who notably piloted one of the AT-ATs during the Battle of Hoth and was tasked with taking down the rebel shield; in The Last Crusade, Clover had the major role of Walter Donovan, the villainous wealthy American who was searching for the location of the Holy Grail. The actor also played Bond villain Aristotle Kristatos in 1981’s For Your Eyes Only, and voiced the spider Aragog in 2002’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
