Geek Gear: E.T. Atari Video Game Shirt ‘8-Bit Legend’
  |  @   |

The $11 t-shirt deal of the day over at TeeFury today is called “8-Bit Legend” by pacalin and its design was inspired by the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and the story of the unearthed copies of the movie’s tie-in Atari E.T. video game.

The sale began at Teefury today, Friday, May 9, 2014, at midnight EST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site for $11 anymore, though it will continue into the next day for $14 (look for the After Hours bar at the top).

Teefury now offers a few colors for each design; click on the color blocks in the “Select your color, size & quantity” area to preview each color. Men’s sizes are S-XL for $11, 2XL (add $1), and 3XL (add $2); Women’s sizes are S-XL for $11, 2XL (add $1), and 3XL (add $2); and Youth sizes are XS-XL. Visit the sale page to get today’s tee or to grab yesterday’s design.

From the artist:

A couple of years ago, I became intrigued by the Atari E.T. story of 1983 stating that millions of unsold copies of the game were supposedly dumped into a landfill in Alamogordo, NM. It was an obscure design on my part, which now suddenly has relevance. On April 26, the legendary cartridges were found!! It was amazing”¦.getting on a plane and flying to a landfill to witness the unearthing in person. :)

What do you think of this design?
