Like many of you reading this right now, I’m already sold on Marvel Studios’ summer sci-fi adventure Guardians of the Galaxy. But every time they release a new trailer or TV spot I still pay attention. The release is less than two months away and I need to get my Guardians fix somehow.
Marvel has released a new international trailer that combines previously released footage with a few new surprises. You can watch it here below.
The major new scenes in this trailer are a peek into the back story of Guardians‘ roguish hero Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and a fun extended clip featuring Pratt bickering with Rocket Raccoon, voiced by Bradley Cooper. Marvel used standard issue ultra-serious trailer music for this spot instead of the cheeky AM rock radio tunes from the first two American trailers. Not that I’m complaining. The interplay between the characters is comedy gold.
Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn and co-stars Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker, and the voice talents of Vin Diesel and Josh Brolin. The film opens in theaters on August 1, 2014.
