Japan Introduces First Android Newscaster, Nightmares Are Had (Video)
  |  @   |

Looking for a bit of nightmare fuel for when you’re all tuckered out and heading to bed this evening? We have just the thing for you!

Japan has unveiled what they say is the world’s first android newscaster, which will be able to read the various daily news stories…or, if necessary, your tweets.

You can see some videos of the android below, along with some friends. Be sure to stick with the video to the end for an added treat that will no doubt obliterate your sleep schedule.

Thankfully these particular androids haven’t even mastered holding a piece of paper yet, so the chances of them being the ones that turn sentient and murder us all in their quest to take over the world is very slim.

  1. Caught this on the news the other day (I live in Japan). Dubbed the “kodomodroid” (child android), she has a “partner” called the otonadroid” (adult android). It’s not the fact that these exist that is giving me nightmares, but that the toothless anti child pornography laws supposedly went into effect the day before these were announced are a joke. Couple these with the lolita-eseque AiDolls (realistic love dolls) and we have a whole bag of creepy awaiting us all within the next few years.
