‘The Conjuring’ Spinoff ‘Annabelle’ Gets A Release Date
  |  @   |

A sequel to last summer’s hit horror movie The Conjuring was already in the works before the first movie was officially released. But until that follow-up arrives, New Line has a little surprise for fans.

The company has announced an official release date for a spinoff to The Conjuring, which will be titled Annabelle. The movie will arrive in theaters this Halloween season on October the 3rd.

Those familiar with the first movie will recognize the name used for the title. Annabelle was the name of a creepy doll that was one of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren’s demonic items. The Warrens were played in the movie by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Annabelle will star Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodard. It’s written by Gary Dauberman and set to be directed by John Leonetti, who was a cinematographer on The Conjuring.
