Having rebounded from the tragedy of losing their iconic singer Mitch Lucker to a motorcycle accident in 2012, Southern California metalcore band Suicide Silence has just issued a video for the first single from their new album. Watch it here below.
“You Can’t Stop Me” is the title track of the band’s triumphant comeback album and is dedicated to Lucker’s memory, as it is the final set of lyrics that he penned before his passing. They have recruited Eddie Hermida, formerly of All Shall Perish, as their new vocalist and he certainly seems up for the task.
The video finds Suicide Silence raging with their usual intensity while spiked walls constrict to crush them. Symbolism anyone? Of course it all ends with a funny twist hinting that, despite the microscope that are currently under by fans and the industry to prove that they’ve still got it, they’re not taking themselves too seriously.
You Can’t Stop Me will be released July 11 (Europe), July 14 (UK) and July 15, 2014 (North America) via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
