Primus and Puscifer Drummer Tim Alexander Undergoes Successful Bypass Surgery
  |  @   |

It’s been a harrowing few days for Primus and Puscifer drummer Tim ‘Herb’ Alexander, his family, and fans all over the world. Last Friday the veteran drummer suffered a heart attack at the age of 49 and, as a result, had to undergo open heart bypass surgery today.

Well, we have some good news to relay from Primus. Herb’s surgery was a success and he’s expected to make a full recovery. You can read their full statement below.

From the band’s official Facebook page:

“The Mighty Tim “Herb” Alexander has pulled through surgery, the blockage from his heart has been removed with no complications and all signs point to a glorious and speedy recovery.”

Great news for fans of the veteran drummer who is currently playing with Primus for a third stretch of time. He has left the band twice to pursue other projects, but rejoined most recently in 2013. Alexander is also currently the drummer of Maynard James Keenan’s project Puscifer and has appeared on the track “The Hallow” by Keenan’s other band A Perfect Circle.

We at Geeks of Doom would like to wish Herb a full and speedy recovery. Check him out in the video below performing “John the Fisherman” from Primus’s 1990 debut album Frizzle Fry.
