Legendary Pictures booked a large panel today at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, where they showed footage for their upcoming features, Godzilla, Warcraft, Crimson Peak, Blackhat, and As Above So Below. When the panel was drawing to a close, the audience thought for sure there’d be something about Pacific Rim 2, since director Guillermo del Toro was there promoting Crimson Peak and head of Legendary Thomas Tull mentioned how del Toro was working on the sequel.

The lights then went out and instead of getting a Pacific Rim 2 tease, attendees were treated to a look at new King Kong movie Skull Island.

The teaser contained voiceover narration talking about a being that was left alone for too long; we see dark skies and oceans, then vegetation, which turns out to be Skull Island, where King Kong then lets out a mighty roar. The worlds “Skull Island” then appeared.

Legendary tweeted “Prepare to explore the mysterious and dangerous Skull Island.”

The film is scheduled for release on November 4, 2016.

Legendary tweeted some more little details:
