SDCC 2014: Benedict Cumberbatch Poses With LEGO Dragon Smaug (Photos)
  |  @   |

This week, actor and fan favorite Benedict Cumberbatch made his first appearance at the Geek mecca San Diego Comic-Con, where he took part in panels for two of his upcoming films: the DreamWorks animated movie, Penguins of Madagascar, where he voices a wolf, and of course, The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, where does the voice and motion-capture performance for two characters – the Necromancer and the dragon Smaug.

Along with speaking on panels, Cumberbatch also stopped to pose with the LEGO dragon Smaug at the WB booth. Check out photos here below of the actor standing with the LEGO creation, which was made out of 83,433 LEGO bricks. Also below are photos from his various panel appearances that we attended, as well as some photos courtesy of the actor at the WB booth.

Also, below is video I took of the dragon Smaug towering atop the WETA booth at SDCC — his glowing eyes opened and closed.
