Ben Affleck’s Batman Won’t Be That Old In ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’
  |  @   |

The reaction to Ben Affleck being cast as Batman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice was mixed. But one of the main concerns was that Affleck was a bit too old for the role. Then came the news that this Batman would be an older Caped Crusader than the one we are used to seeing.

We really couldn’t tell how old this Batman would be was from the footage that was released during Comic-Con a few weeks back, but from what we’ve heard, Affleck would be portraying a Batman that’s “tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile.” While age is nothing but a number, a producer on the film has confirmed Batman’s age in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and it may surprise you.

Producer Michael Uslan confirms that this Bruce Wayne will be in his mid-40s. Here’s the full quote from Comic Book Movie:

So, [the Batman universe casting backlash] has happened time and again, and it happened with Affleck. To go back to the original thought of Bruce Wayne in his mid-40s, I think he’s going to be extraordinary.

As far as I remember, Batman’s age has never been specified or disclosed to the audience in any of the films. But I can see why it may be of some concern considering that Affleck was cast as the Caped Crusader. While age may not be of great importance, what is important is how long Batman has been fighting crime, and Uslan revealing the age gives us a slight idea of how long he has been fighting crime.

  3. In Batman Begins they are throwing his 30th birthday party, if they are following a similar timeline, I would say over a decade of your life dedicated to fighting crime would feel long enough. Especially when someone comes along who has all the powers of superman.
