It’s an exciting day for Star Wars fans, with lots of leaks coming out of the highly secretive Star Wars: Episode VII production. So far, we found out about the villains, the Stormtroopers (or Snowtroopers), and we’re getting a peek at the costume concept art for Han Solo AND some details about what kind of ship he’ll be piloting in the upcoming JJ Abrams film.
Check out the images here below, along with the starship details. And if you’re worried about possible spoilers, be warned.
The images come from Indie Revolver (they got to the scoop on the Stormtroopers as well), who said they got to see several designs that would indicate that Harrison Ford, who reprises his role as Han Solo, would be going through a lot of costume changes if all the sketches end up translated in the film.
Here’s the first image, where Han is wearing a coat similar to the one he wore on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back
And here’s the second outfit:
As far as what Han Solo will be flying in the film, Badass Digest says that it won’t be Millennium Falcon. Solo possibly lost the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs to Oscar Isaac’s character. Instead, Han and his Wookie sidekick Chewbacca will reportedly be piloting a Super Star Destroyer!!!
I believe the Falcon is in the hands of Oscar Isaac’s character, who is very much the Lando Calrissian of this movie – all the way down to wearing a cape.
There are other familiar spaceships in this movie, incuding three variations on TIE Fighters. There’s the classic design, the TIE Interceptor and a new generation TIE Bomber – the pods on these are stacked, not side-by-side.
And – get this – BD says we’ll be seeing Han use a lightsaber again!
All of this is just rumor at this point and it does seem strange that so many leaks are coming out of the production at once — maybe these are all purposely planted details to divert us all from what’s really going to happen!! Either way, for someone like me — who’s loved Star Wars since I was a very small child and have waited three-fourths of my lifetime for Luke, Han, and Leia to return to the big screen — I really enjoy all the scoops, leaks, and hypothesizing going on for the new movie.
Star Wars: Episode VII, which is scheduled to open in theaters on December 18, 2015, will reunite original trilogy co-stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew, and introduce newcomers to the franchise, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, and Gwendoline Christie.
