Kickstarter Spotlight: Pariah, Missouri, Book 2
  |  @   |

I love getting in on the ground floor of independent comics, especially since it’s actually a lot easier these days with crowd funding sites. Take this Kickstarter, for instance. An indie series that combines the Old West with a (not so) merry band of adventurers, that’s what you’ll find in Pariah, Missouri Book 2! Add in a dash of supernatural elements and you’ve got an engaging, twisted little tale of suspense. Plus, you can get this before anyone else does, thanks to this campaign!

Read on for more on what this series is all about and the cool goodies you can get for supporting it, and check out the Kickstarter video for it below.

The second installment in Pariah, Missouri picks up right where the first one left off, though there is the addition of a few new characters arriving on the train to this little “riverboat boom-town and haven for the unscrupulous.” Hiram Buchanan is still leading the way in the quest to find the Syndicate, an underground group of criminals that want to run Pariah for their own gain. The arrival of the Preacher and his church of Golgotha adds a new layer to the already multifaceted setting of this developing burg. What does the future hold for Pariah and her citizens? The only way to find out is to read the graphic novel and there are many ways you can lay your hands on it, all of which have one thing in common: your donation to this worthy endeavor.

As with almost every Kickstarter, there are a plethora of rewards available at various funding levels. The newly added Role Playing Game in .pdf form is pretty cool and it’s available as a reward for a mere eight dollars! For digital copies of both this Kickstarer comic and the previous one, ten is the magic number of dollars needed. Twenty-two smackers will get you a signed copy of either book one or book two, your choice. Though for forty bucks you can get signed copies of both books! There are far more than I can easily name here, but I promise there is something here that will appeal to any fan of western comics. There are levels created specifically for the retailers and if you are a completist, there is a package that includes pretty much everything available. The best thing about this is that this bad boy was fully funded in the first ten days, guaranteeing that the rewards will be fulfilled for all valid pledges!

Projects like this are amazing. Watching as fans from around the world band together to help Andres Salazar bring his concept to the printed page is an awesome experience. And you can be a part of the magic by donating a few dollars to this Kickstarter. I managed to snag an Early Bird special and am getting a signed hardcover Director’s Cut of the second book with an original sketch. And being the RPG fan that I am, I adding another eight dollars so I can get the game, too! I’m including the video from the Kickstarter page below so make sure you check it out. This project ends on September 23, 2014 so don’t wait too long before you go look at all the goodies available, many of them are limited in number and I don’t want you to be disappointed if you miss out on a great deal. You can find the original Kickstarter page here. Enjoy and dig deep, the more you donate, the more you get!
