People love watching other people react to things, whether it be scenes from a movie or TV show, video games, some form of technology, and so on. Reaction videos are used to market upcoming horror and comedy movies to people who haven’t seen them yet, and to make those who have seen them laugh.
The React videos from Fine Brothers Entertainment have smartly built a collection of videos on this undeniable fascination with reactions, having people of all ages react to all kinds of things, usually from a different generation to ensure boggled minds. These videos can often make you feel so very old, and that’s quite depressing, but we still watch because they also deliver on the nostalgia, which makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Who doesn’t love testing one’s own emotional stability via a brief viral video every now and then?
The latest videos tackle a big one: Nintendo. Teens, including Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams (who recently did a Saved by the Bell reaction video), react to the Nintendo console itself and then to hit games Super Mario Bros. and Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! You can watch the videos below.
Now obviously teens these days are used to the fancy ultra-realistic graphics seen on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and especially PC games, so of course they’re going to see an Nintendo console as ancient. Hell, I see the Nintendo console as ancient, and I grew up playing games on it (and still have mine!). And one of the games mentioned, Dragon Warrior 3, is just as unknown to me personally as it is to those kids, so it really just depends on the game.
It’s amusing to see the reactions, especially from the kids who at least understand how crucial the NES was to games becoming what they are today. But the real fun (and head-slapping) comes when they play Mario and Punch Out. Let’s just say things don’t go so well. I mean…who loses to Glass freakin’ Joe?! I didn’t think that was possible.
Enjoy!
