On September 18, the people of Scotland will vote whether to secede from the United Kingdom, gain independence (yet again — remember Braveheart?), and become its own country. It’s up in the air right now how the Scots will vote, but celebrities across the UK have been offering up their opinions: Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and former Doctor Who star David Tennant hope there will be a “No” on Scottish independence, while Highlander immortal Sir Sean Connery and action star Gerard Butler are hoping for a “Yes.”
Now, Scotsman Groundskeeper Willie from the long-running animated FOX series The Simpsons has spoken out on his views regarding the upcoming Scottish independence vote. Check out the video here below.
Scotland is one of four countries that are part of the UK: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Throughout history, the Scots have gained and lost their independence, and have been part of the UK since 1707. Gawker has an in depth look at the upcoming Scottish election and what independence would mean for the country, so check it out.
