About this time last month, we started to see some revealing new concept images of Han Solo and the starships of J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: Episode VII. We also saw that the Stormtroopers would look slightly different than the standard ones we saw in episodes IV – VI. Leaked images from the sky above have also hit the web. Then there was the Omaze online charity campaign, where we saw our first look at the new X-Wing and practical effects. And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, Bad Robot is engaging in a playful Twitter war with Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
But despite the Omaze campaign and the leaked images, we still don’t know much about the film. We do know that the vital characters from the original will return to reprise their roles. But as to what will cause a disturbance in the force this time, that remains to be seen. Until then, we will be getting more leaked images. A new set of leaked concept art has just hit the web, and it shows that the stormtroopers could be sporting a sleek chrome look. In fact they are being called Chrome Troopers. Hit the jump to check it out.
Indie Revolver, who had dropped the previous concept art pieces, revealed the latest Stormtrooper look today. In comparison to the previous stormtrooper art, these chrome stormtroopers look to be high-ranking stormtroopers, or they could be a part of an elite squad of some sort. Like I said, we don’t know much about the film since details are in very short supply.
According to the site, Chrome Trooper’s aren’t wearing hoods or cloaks; their metal collar actually extends up from the torso and curves around the head. So don’t let the darker image fool you, he isn’t wearing a robe or cloak, that is actually a part of the suit.
Starring John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Anthony Daniels, and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: Episode VII is due out in theaters on December 15, 2015.
Looks like those Cylons from the Battlestar Galactica series…
