Death Metal institution Malevolent Creation has announced that it has just signed a worldwide record deal with powerhouse metal label Century Media Records. The band is working on their twelfth full-length studio album, which is slated for release sometime in 2015. An extensive tour is planned in support of the recording.
Watch Malevolent Creation perform “Eve of the Apocalypse” from their classic album Retribution here below.
Formed in 1987 in Buffalo, NY, Malevolent Creation relocated to Florida shortly thereafter and became a seminal band in the rise of death metal. Renown for their brutal live shows and refusal to “sell-out,” Malevolent Creation is a coveted addition to the Century Media stable.
According to Philipp Schulte (Century Media A&R Europe):
We have received a lot of positive feedback throughout the last couple of years on our signing policy for extreme metal bands, be it newcomer bands or big established names. MALEVOLENT CREATION belongs to the latter group and we think they just perfectly fit into the Century Media roster. We are very proud having them on board. The six demo tracks we have heard are brilliant, offering all the well-known trademarks on a very high level. Seeing them live and meeting the guys at PartySan Open Air was a pleasure. We saw a veteran death metal band in perfect shape, all five guys fully committed to the band with the focus on working on an album with the potential to become a classic in a catalogue abundant in classic albums.”
Malevolent Creation guitarist Phil Fasciana adds:
We are very excited to be working together on our 12th album and look forward to its release on Century Media and will be wasting no time on getting back on the road and touring extensively around the world to promote our band and new album. Nobody knows what the future holds, but the 5 of us are all committed to delivering the heaviest MALEVOLENT CREATION album to-date and look forward to the future and working with Century Media Records worldwide.”
So, keep an eye out for the new Malevolent Creation album and, if you’re into old-school, uncompromising death metal, be sure to catch them out on tour. We here at GoD will keep you updated on the details as they emerge.
