‘Ex Machina’ Trailer: A Sci-Fi Thriller From ’28 Days Later,’ ‘Sunshine’ Writer

A trailer has been released for the excellent looking Ex Machina, which is directed by Alex Garland in his feature debut. Garland has worked on the scripts for Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later and Sunshine, as well as Dredd, Never Let Me Go, and the phenomenal video game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

The movie tells the story of a computer coder who wins the opportunity to spend a week at the CEO of the company he works for’s house in the mountains, but quickly finds himself part of an experiment evaluating the human qualities of a brand new artificial intelligence.

Ex Machina stars Domhnall Gleeson and Oscar Isaac, both of whom also will appear in Star Wars: Episode VII, as well as Alicia Vikander.

It will be released on January 23, 2015 in the UK, and April 10, 2015 here in the States.
