The Digital Wire Blu-ray/DVD Release News: Tusks, Theorems, and Teen Lit

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Digital Wire. Hope you all had a wonderful and scare-tastic Halloween because by the sound of the Christmas songs starting their yearly infection of the radio airwaves, an even more frightening time of year is upon us.
Below you’ll find info on several future home video releases complete with technical specs, release dates, and links to pre-order at Amazon. We would greatly appreciate it if you use those links to order because a small percentage of each order helps keep this website running at max power. The cover art for certain titles has yet to be finalized.
Kevin Smith‘s unusual horror-comedy hybrid flick Tusk didn’t get a lot from critics and moviegoers so it will have to settle for finding an audience on home video. Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release the film on Blu-ray and DVD on December 30, 2014. Extra features will include an audio commentary with Smith, deleted scenes, the original podcast that inspired Smith to make Tusk, additional featurettes, and more.
Well Go USA will release The Zero Theorem, the latest film from visionary director Terry Gilliam, on Blu-ray on January 30, 2015. Extra features will include a behind-the-scenes featurette, a visual effects featurette, and the theatrical trailer.
Hot on the heels of its surprising success at the September box office the dystopian young adult adaptation The Maze Runner will debut on Blu-ray and DVD from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment on December 16, 2014. Details on the technical specifications have yet to be finalized but we can expect about two hours’ worth of extra features and an exclusive comic book.
Disney’s animated classic 101 Dalmatians is getting a Diamond Edition Blu-ray, to be released on February 10, 2015, just in time for Valentine’s Day. This new release will comes with the Blu-ray edition, along with a DVD and Digital HD formats, and includes an all-new, never-before-seen animated short “The Further Adventures of Thunderbolt” and new bonus features, along with the previously available bonus content.
