‘Furious 7’ Trailer: Vin Diesel and His Family Find Vengeance
  |  @   |

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Furious 7, the seventh entry in the highly successful Fast and Furious franchise. The trailer starts off in a really big way, and the action sequences seen are only a glimpse into what will probably be one of the most exciting films of 2015. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lucas Black all return to reprise their respective roles. They will be joined by newcomers like Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, and John Brotherton.

The trailer is also bit of a sad reminder that this is the last time we will ever see the late Paul Walker in a movie. But based on the massive marketing campaign that was launched prior to the trailer’s release, it looks like Furious 7 will honor his legacy in the Fast and Furious franchise. Hit the jump to read a synopsis and watch the trailer.

UPDATE: 2/1/2015 – the Furious 7 World Super Bowl Spot is now online.

Synopsis:

Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell. Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film written by Chris Morgan.

Furious 7 will be huge. Just watching Walker leap into a bus, break a prisoner free, then leap out of that same bus onto a moving car just before the bus veers off of a cliff is true to the Fast and Furious style. There are also fast cars, beautiful women, bulging muscles, intense fight scenes, and of course the one-liners.

The film was actually slated for release last summer, but was pushed back after the tragic loss of Walker back in 2013.

James Wan took a brief retirement from horror films to direct Furious 7, which opens in theaters on April 3, 2015.
