We’re still many months away from the premiere of Season 5 of HBO’s Game of Thrones, but by the way things left off in Season 4, we know we can expect a lot of changes. One such change will be to the character of Arya Stark, the younger Stark daughter who spent the last few seasons on the road disguised as a boy to hide from the Lannisters while she searched for her surviving relatives.
The tomboyish teenager, played on the show by Maisie Williams, will finally put aside her long pants and grow out her short locks in favor of a more feminine look.
Entertainment Weekly was given an exclusive on a sketch of Arya’s new look, which includes a long skirt, jewelry, and a hairstyle of braided buns. Check out the sketch here below.
Williams told EW that the change was so radical that her own cast mates didn’t recognize her on set at first:
“I had my hair braided up to these big buns and bits of jewelry and a jumper thing with a long skirt, and I came onto the set and nobody recognized me,” she says.
Arya’s new journey is to the free city of Braavos, so she’ll fit in better there with the costume change. If you know her story from George R.R. Martin’s books, then you know that Arya, who’s already a fan favorite, we’ll amaze us some more in the coming season.
Season 5 of Game Of Thrones premieres on HBO in April 2015.
