Three Actors From ‘The Raid’ Will Appear In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
  |  @   |

Star Wars: The Force Awakens already tops many critics most anticipated lists, and with good reason. But the latest news is giving us another reason to be excited for this very highly anticipated film.

If the reports are true, three of the principle actors from The Raid and The Raid 2: Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian (who played Mad Dog and Prakoso in the films), and Cecep Arif Rahman (who played “The Assassin” and had a fight scene towards the end of The Raid 2) have roles in the film, and could be involved in a much larger capacity. And if you have seen either of Gareth Evans’ films, that means the action sequences in J.J. Abrams‘ upcoming movie should be awesome. Hit the jump for the full report.

Twitch was the first to report on the story, which comes from a very viable source considering the site’s editor, Todd Brown, is a producer on both films.

Uwais, Ruhian, and Rahman may have roles, but as to who they will be playing, that is unknown. However, it appears that they will be doing much more than just having roles; it could be that they also choreograph some of the fight scenes for the film. Uwais and Ruhian choreographed the fight scenes in both Raid films, so it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that Abrams asked for some guidance in designing the fight choreography in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We don’t know how many fight scenes are in the film, but according to /Film, the duo will choreograph at least one.

No matter the number or size of the roles, the addition of three stars from the Raid films just made Star Wars: The Force Awakens that much more exciting to watch when it arrives on December 18, 2015.
