Last week saw yet another rumor surface about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated follow-up to Man Of Steel. The teaser trailer has yet to be released and it may or may not be attached to theatrical screenings of Jupiter Ascending starting February 6, 2015, but an unverified image that supposedly was taken from said teaser showed that the film would be split into two parts, with the first part being released later this year.
No one knows where the image came from, but the thought of getting the first part of the movie — dubbed Batman v Superman: Enter The Knight — as early as October 2015, got everyone’s attention and possibly their hopes up, too.
Now, Variety reports that the two-film rumor was just that – rumor.
Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe, told Variety that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will not be split into two films.
The trade caught up with the actor over the weekend at the BAFTA tea at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, where he told them his co-star Ben Affleck makes a “great” Batman. When they asked Cavill if Batman v Superman would be more epic than Marvel’s The Avengers, he responded, “You’ll see.”
Ramin Setoodeh, New York Film Editor for Variety, posted to Twitter photos of Cavill at the Tea, along with some of the actor’s responses to his questions.
