Rockstar Delays ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ PC Release; Minimum Specs and 4K Screenshots Shared
  |  @   |

Rockstar Games has decided to delay the PC release of Grand Theft Auto V, and some eager fans are not at all happy about it.

After a lengthy wait for word on a PC release of the game, it was revealed in November—about a year after the console version was released—that it would finally be made available this month. A couple of weeks from today, actually. But now the developer has decided to push that back a couple of months to March 24th.

Continue below for more, and to also see the minimum specification requirements, the recommended specs, and the first PC screenshots.

A peek at the comments of the official announcement on Rockstar’s website shows plenty of angry responses, including some who are declaring that they won’t even be purchasing the game anymore…which is of course total and complete BS in most cases.

We live in the age of broken games. Almost all of the big games released in 2014 were broken at launch, and those who paid for the game had to wait for patches to fix all the things that should have been fixed before release. But sometimes publishers want a game released, whether it’s ready to be or not, and this is what happens. Instead of doing this, Rockstar has decided to take as much time as they need to hopefully ensure that the product they release is of the high quality both they and their fans expect. This is as it should be.

Some PC fans, while not fond of the amount of time they’ve had to wait to play, understand and accept this, but there will always be those who overreact. If Rockstar released GTA V on PC as planned in two weeks and it was broken and buggy, everyone (including those complaining about the delay now) would be waving pitchforks and torches about that instead. A lose-lose situation.

For those of you not jumping off a building because of this delay, here are the minimum and recommended spec requirements:

Minimum specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)

Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
HDD Space: 65GB
DVD Drive

Recommended specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)

The game will come with GTA Online as well, which will support up to 30 players, and the heist missions everyone has been waiting for. The heist missions will be made available to those of you playing on a console sometime in the weeks prior to the PC release.

The PC version also comes with the new Rockstar Editor, giving players tools to create and publish gameplay videos on Social Club and YouTube.
