‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: George Lucas Has Finally Seen The Teaser Trailer
  |  @   |

Nearly two months after its release to the general public, the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has finally been seen … by George Lucas!

The Star Wars creator, who is making the rounds this month to promote his animated feature Strange Magic, had repeatedly said that he had not seen the teaser for J.J. Abrams’ highly anticipated first installment of the newest Star Wars trilogy. But, the 70-year-old filmmaker told New York Post’s Page Six on Saturday during a screening of his new film that he has now seen it and that he thought it was “intriguing.”

Here’s the quotes from Lucas:

“I saw the trailer. I saw it in a theater because I don’t watch movies online.”

When asked if he liked it, he smiled. “Yeah, it was intriguing.”

It must be hard for Lucas to see his baby in someone else’s hands, especially since before selling his lucrative Lucasfilm to Disney, he had planned to do a new Star Wars trilogy of his own. Instead, Lucas decided to settled down with a new wife and baby and ease into retirement.

With Lucasfilm under their umbrella, Disney went on to plan their own trilogy, starting with the first film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will be out in theaters on December 18, 2015.
