The Gleek-down continues with Glee Season 6 episode 4 of the final 13, “The Hurt Locker, Part One,” which delves a little more deeply into the insanity that is Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). This Sue-centric episode explores her hatred of the glee club, and of her also surprising fandom of “Klaine” (Chris Colfer & Darren Criss). She vows to get them back together by any means possible. The lengths she goes to in this episode are hilarious. I think I will miss her the most.
Here’s a classic Sue-ism:
Kurt: “What invitational?”
Sue: “The one I set up to destroy the glee club once and for all……. I said that out loud didn’t I? I should have said that in voiceover.”
The Songs:
“Bitch” (Meredith Brooks): This 90s all-women-everywhere anthem sung by Sue will have you digging for your flannel.
“A Thousand Miles” (Vanessa Carlton): Sung by Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Rachel (Lea Michelle). I wish Blaine would give me magic piano lessons.
“Rock Lobster” (The B-52s): Performed by Vocal Adrenaline. This group dances as well as they sing. And the bouffants! Oh the bouffants!
“Whip It” (Devo): Vocal Adrenaline’s new lead singer’s voice is like melted chocolate flowing through silk. These two songs are not even outlets to showcase such a voice, yet the power still sings through.
