Universal Pictures has released the first trailer and images for Ted 2, Seth MacFarlane‘s sequel to his 2012 live-action directorial debut, Ted.
The trailer for Ted 2 here below, along with new images from the R-rated comedy.
Ted 2 sees Mark Wahlberg reprising his role as John Bennett, a man who’s childhood teddy bear comes to life as a foulmouthed sidekick and wreaks havoc on his life. In the new film, Ted (voiced by MacFarlane) and Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) are happily married and ready to start a family, but when they try to have a baby, Ted finds out he must first prove in a court of law that he’s an actual person. Amanda Seyfried stars ss Ted’s lawyer, with Morgan Freeman playing an iconic civil rights lawyer, and Liam Neeson appearing in an unspecified role.
The cast also includes Michael Dorn (Wolf from Star Trek: The Next Generation), Nana Visitor (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Patrick Warburton, Dennis Haysbert, Sam J. Jones (aka Flash Gordon, who appeared in the first film), David Hasselhoff, and more, with Patrick Stewart returning to narrate. As with the first film, expect plenty of celebrity cameos. Mila Kunis, who played Wahlberg’s girlfriend in the first film, is nowhere to be found in the sequel’s trailer, although there had been talk last year of her possibly having a small role.
Seth MacFarlane returns as writer, director and voice star of Ted 2, Universal and Media Rights Capital’s follow-up to the highest-grossing original R-rated comedy of all time. Joined once again by star Mark Wahlberg and fellow Ted writers Alec Sulkin & Wellesley Wild, MacFarlane produces the live action/CG-animated comedy alongside Bluegrass Films’ Scott Stuber, as well as John Jacobs and Jason Clark. www.LegalizeTed.com
