Guardians Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt has made good on his losing TwitterBowl Super Bowl bet this week when he visited the children and families at Christopher’s Haven in Boston, MA. Joining Pratt on his visit was fellow Marvel superhero actor and Christopher’s Haven supporter Chris Evans, to whom Pratt lost the Super Bowl wager on Sunday.
Back in January, Boston, MA native and New England Patriots fan Chris Evans aka Captain America, and Lake Stevens, WA, resident and Seattle Seahawks fan Chris Pratt aka Star-Lord struck up a Super Bowl bet on Twitter which resulted in benefitting two charities. The stakes were if the Patriots won, Pratt as Star-Lord would visit Christopher’s Haven in Boston, MA; if the Seahawks won, Evans as Captain America would visit Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, WA. The two actors, who were together in Glendale, AZ, at the Super Bowl game awaiting the outcome, ended up raising both awaress and thousands of dollars for the charities through their public sports rivalry. After the Patriots won, Evans posted to Twitter that both actors would be visiting both children’s hospitals together.
First stop for the superheroes was at Christopher’s Haven, which provides housing for families with children receiving cancer treatments at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston. Pratt posted photos online of the event, as did Christopher’s Haven, which you can see here below.
On his social media accounts today, Pratt posted the following:
Made good on that “ª#”Žtwitterbowl”¬ bet! Starlord is [p]roud to be in Boston today at #Christopher’s Haven with Chris Evans and some awesome families. “ª#”Ž12thMan”¬
Pratt, dressed as his Marvel character Star-Lord, took photos with the families and children, who were reportedly given lots of toys and gift bags, courtesy of Newbury Comics and Disney (Disney is the studio behind Guardians). Evans, in plain clothes, was on hand for photos ops as well, and to also make sure that Pratt was seen with his newly bestowed New England Patriots jersey, complete with his last name on the back and the number 12, which is Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s number. A more vengeful part of the bet had been that Seahawks fan Pratt would have to wear a Tom Brady jersey for the duration of his visit. While Pratt didn’t wear his new jersey for his photo-op with the kids, Evans was there to hold up the shirt for the photos, and then later on, the Guardians star donned the jersey for separate pictures with Evans.
In related news, for a limited time, Teefury is offering up a Marvel-themed Super Bowl XLIX charity t-shirt called Chris vs Chris for only $11 in a design that pits Captain America (The Avengers) against Star-Lord (Guardians Of The Galaxy). The shirt will be available for sale through February 10, 2015, and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the two aforementioned charities.
