The Walking Dead returns this Sunday with the mid-season premiere for Season 5, which means it’s time to catch up!
AMC has released a new video to help everyone remember where we left off back in November during the mid-season 5 finale, Episode 5.8 “Coda.” Check out the 2-minute video titled “Where The Mid-Season Finale Left Off” here below.
Obviously, if you’re not caught up on Season 5, beware of spoilers, because it’s really all one big spoiler. The video contains footage from the mid-season finale, as well as interview clips with the cast. As is pointed out, the group is left devastated by the events of the last episode, and since they no longer have a home base, the situation has become even more desperate.
Along with the catch-up video, there’s also a new teaser trailer called “Best Season Ever” touting the show’s highly anticipated return. If you haven’t seen any footage from the new episodes, check out the full trailer; a shorter trailer; and teaser, and if you’re really ready to dive in, there’s this video of the first 2 minutes of the mid-season premiere, Episode 5.9 “What Happened and What’s Going On.”
The Walking Dead is back at AMC on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 9/8c, and sees the return of Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, and more.
After the tragic events of the mid-season finale — as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC — Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope.
Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp on to what little they have left.
Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur.
Could there be anything at this point that brings them back to life?
Along with the February 8, 2015 mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead comes the return of its ancillary show, the Chris Hardwick-hosted Talking Dead live at a special time, 11:15/10:15c, with guests Greg Nicotero, Ron Perlman, and a surprise cast member from The Walking Dead. After the live show is the premiere of Better Call Saul, the spin-off prequel to AMC’s Breaking Bad.
