Greetings and thank you for taking the time to read the first post-Oscar edition of The Digital Wire. I hope this finds you well and the big winner of your office’s Academy Awards pool. Now we only have less than two months before the MTV Movie Awards air. I hear Amy Schumer is hosting this year.
Below you’ll find info on several future home video releases complete with technical specs, release dates, and links to pre-order at Amazon, as well as a list of titles coming out this week.
We would greatly appreciate it if you use those links to order because a small percentage of each order helps keep this website running at max power. The cover art for certain titles has yet to be finalized.

Peter Jackson‘s final (for now) trip to the magical, mystical realm of Middle-Earth will soon be yours to own when Warner Bros. Home Entertainment releases: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and DVD on March 24, 2015. As these releases go extra features will be scant since only the theatrical cut is set to be included:
New Zealand: Home of Middle-earth – Part 3
Recruiting the Five Armies
The Last Goodbye: Music Video
The Last Goodbye: Behind the Scenes
Theatrical and “Legacy” Trailers
The inevitable extended cut edition will likely arrive just in time for Christmas.
Tim Burton‘s fact-based drama Big Eyes was supposed to give the eccentric filmmaker some needed critical and commercial attention, but unfortunately the low-budget feature starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz failed to make much of an impression on anyone who bothered to check it out during the crowded holiday movie season. The Weinstein Company and Anchor Bay Home Entertainment hope to give Burton’s film a second chance with audiences when they release Big Eyes on Blu-ray and DVD on April 14, 2015. Extras will be limited to a “making-of” featurette and highlights from a Q&A session.
