The sections of previous games in the Batman: Arkham video game series involving the villain Scarecrow were some of the most memorable parts of the games.
Now Scarecrow is taking control of Gotham City in the latest game in the series, titled Batman: Arkham Knight, which is the trilogy-maker in developer Rocksteady Studios’ series following Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. A fourth game in the franchise, a prequel titled Arkham Origins, was developed by WB Games Montreal and released in 2013.
A new trailer for the game, titled “Gotham Is Mine,” focuses on Scarecrow’s attempt to take control of the city, as well as the group of familiar names and faces he brings together for his plan, including Two-Face, Harley Quinn, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, and The Penguin.
Click on over to the other side now to check out the new trailer.
As Scarecrow unites the Rogues Gallery, including Two-Face, The Penguin, the Riddler, the Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, they bring all-out war as they try to take down The Dark Knight, and claim Gotham City as their own.
Rocksteady made an interesting decision for this new game as well. In addition to the intimidating lineup of baddies listed above, the developer also worked in collaboration with DC Comic to create a brand new villain named The Arkham Knight, introduced in the trailer “Evening the Odds.” Why they chose to do this and how the new villain comes into play is not yet known.
You can see the Knight following Scarecrow early in this trailer, acting as an enforcer or protector possibly. But the name is right there in the title, so you know it’s an important character. Perhaps someone well-known in a disguise?
You can check out other trailers and gameplay previews for Batman: Arkham Knightright here, and you can pre-order the game for Xbox One, PS4, and PC now. It will be released on June 2nd.
