‘Walking Dead’ Star Norman Reedus On Licking Things & Daryl’s Sexuality (Video)
  |  @   |

Last night on Conan, Norman Reedus paid Conan O’Brien a visit, and O’Brien demanded to know about his “licking” thing.

O’Brien: “You lick your fans. How did that start? Why did that start? How do I get in on it?”
Reedus: “It started because I started licking my castmates.”

The actor also addressed his previous castings as a violent killer, as well as the issues of his Walking Dead character Daryl’s sexuality and zombie apocalypse diet.

Watch the all the videos from Reedus’s appearance on Conan here below.

As far as the licking goes, Reedus is so known for this now that his last name is now a verb in Urban Dictionary. Sure enough a fan was wearing a “Norman Please #Reedus Me” t-shirt. He said sometimes dads will come up to him and ask him to lick their daughters. “I get that, too,” complains O’Brien. “That’s just being on television.” So funny! Reedus is just so super cool. He threw up the devil horns to wish his mom a happy birthday. “You gotta meet my mom.”

Reedus and O’Brien discussed other pressing issues both on and off screen. For example, the worm-eating scandal. He really wanted to eat the worm for real on the February 15th episode of The Walking Dead,”Them,” for the scene when the group was just so very hungry, like when Nicolas Cage ate a bug, but there are animal rights groups set monitoring such things, so the worm just wriggled on his tongue a little. This perplexed O’Brien because of worms and fishing. Reedus thinks maybe they just wanted to visit the set.

Reedus is totally cool if Daryl turns out to be gay. That all started with Robert Kirkman being ambiguous about Daryl being a combo of two characters from the comics, one of whom is a badass gay guy named Jesus. He demonstrated the three fan reactions he gets with that. Kids give high fives, men are wary, and women are like, “You better not be!”

“If that’s the story they gave me, I would rock that story,” Reedus said.

The actor believes he always plays violent killers because of his beady little eyes. Cue camera closeup of his eyes to the the delighted screams of the audience. O’Brien wanted to know if he ever felt like he was on the set of The Walking Dead when he is in a crowd. Reedus said when he’s walking in New York, it does cross his mind because he treats his zombie-killing like a ballet. ‘I’m gonna take the litle one and throw him into that one.”

“To be fair, that’s how half the New Yorkers are thinking,” returns O’Brien.

Watch all the clips. Reedus is the man. Norman, please #Reedus ME!
