Jada Pinkett-Smith Leaving ‘Gotham’ After Season 1
  |  @   |

Jada Pinkett-Smith announced that Gotham Season 1 is to be her first and her last season!

“I did my year and I had a good time,” Pinkett-Smith told Extra.

Her character Fish Mooney is not a part of the DC comics universe, and was specifically created for the show. So maybe this should not be a surprise that her stay in Gotham will be so short. That she lasted this long, with a finger in every evil pie, should be the surprise.

The question is…..how will she go? Will she go into hiding? I mean real hiding, like she disappears and comes back three seasons later, leaving the door open for her return. Will Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) kill her, having gunned for her since Episode 1? Will Don Falcone (John Doman) finally catch up to her? Or will Dr. Dulmacher (Colm Feore) give her someone else’s face, recasting the character? I guess we will find out soon.

I just hope that the lingering love connection with Bullock (Donal Logue) is resolved satisfactorily, and that somehow Butch (Drew Powell) tries to save her despite his brainwashing at the hands of Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan). However it happens, I’m sure it will be with pizzazz. She should die (or disappear) as she lived…with style.

What do you think?

Jada Pinkett-Smith’s next role is in Magic Mike XXL, premiering July 1, 2015.

Gotham, which airs Monday nights on FOX, will return with the last four episodes of the season on April 13, 2015.

Before we say goodbye…..let’s revisit the deliciously bad Fish Mooney.

That scene!

Get to know imposing nightclub owner and gang boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), a character created specifically for GOTHAM.

Fish takes command and gives a pretty rousing ‘We are family’ speech. The rest is history in this episode S01E16 ‘The Blind Fortune Teller’.
