Back in December, a sketch was released that revealed a new look for the character of Arya Stark for the upcoming season of HBO’s Game Of Thrones.
Now, the first look at Maisie Williams as Arya Stark for Season 5 has been released. The 17-year-old actress is featured on one of the new Game Of Thrones covers from Entertainment Weekly, as well as in a photo inside the issue that reveals her full attire.
Check out all four covers — Arya, Tyrion, Jon Snow, Daenerys — and the new photo of Arya here below.
The younger Stark daughter spent the last few seasons on the road disguised as a boy to hide from the Lannisters while she searched for her surviving relatives. At the end of Season 4, her long journey came to an end as she was seen setting out alone to the free city of Braavos.
For her new look, which will debut at some point in Season 5, Arya is putting aside her long pants and short locks for a more feminine look of a long skirt, jewelry, and a hairstyle of braided buns.
A new trailer for Season 5 — which revealed plans for Daenerys Targaryen to crush her enemies across the sea who are warring for the Iron Throne, her rightful claim by birth — was released yesterday in conjunction with the announcement of HBONOW, an online subscription service where users can watch movies and television shows from their Apple devices without needing a cable subscription.
The first trailer, released earlier this year, was set to David Bowie’s “Heroes” and featured the incestuous Lannister twins; the now-beard, on-the-lamb Tyrion; Littlefinger and his new travel companion, the darker Sansa Stark; a hint of Arya Stark holding her sword Needle; and much more.
Season 5 of Game Of Thronespremieres on HBO on April 12, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. A behind-the-scenes featurette titled Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Day In A Life, which aired in February and takes a look at one day of production for Season 5 on three different sets in three different countries, is online for viewing now.
Catch up with Season 4 now so you’re ready for the new episodes!
