Charles: “The muggings were confined to Cabot St. They began over two months ago.”
Gina: “Just like this briefing did. Please go to charisma class.”

Sorry. Those were the very first two lines of the episode 2.19 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I love that girl. Gina (Chelsea Peretti) is the best character on a show filled with best characters. There is no one who takes a chance on this show that does not love it. If you are not watching it, my question is… why are you trying to destroy your own happiness?

Peralta (Andy Samberg) is having a string (a hilarious, funny, guffawing string) of bad luck. He is late four days in a row (with some excellent stage direction and editing), for completely different reasons until he is suspended for failing a urine test.

The two side storylines find Terry (Terry Crews) lying to Gina and telling her that he and Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) went to her “Dancy Reagan” performance. The Captain could not lie, which crushed the funny out of Gina. How could you, Captain Holt? The other is Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) is assigned Detectives Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker) to help him in a case. How are these two not fired yet? You’ll see.

Santiago (Melissa Fumero) and Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) are on Jake’s case where rules — like pinatas, glow sticks, karate boards, and spaghetti in a small pot — were made to be broken, to Santiago’s horror. It is equally as possible that Jake is just so irresponsible that these things all just happened, or one of the many many perps Jake put away is setting him up. I can’t tell you the outcome, obviously… but the words “spoiler alert” are actually spoken by one of the characters in this episode. It’s like they knew their number one fan was watching. Tears…
