Andrew Dice Clay, the comedian and actor from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, best known for his controversial and super politically incorrect stand-up of the ’80s and ’90s, will star in Dice, a six-episode series, set to air on Showtime in 2016.

The show will be fictionalized reality based on Dice Clay’s real life in Vegas, about trying to make a comeback from megastar to has-been to who knows? What we do know is that he keeps trying to claw his way back to where he once was.

Showtime will also air the comedy special Andrew Dice Clay Presents the Blue Show, on April 24th at 11pm, which you can see a trailer for along with some other Dice Clay videos below.

Like most comedians, Andrew Dice Clay started doing stand-up in local comedy clubs, starting at Pips in Sheepshead Bay, and eventually moving to the bigger Manhattan clubs. When he moved to LA, he worked at the famous Comedy Store, which led to tv shows and movie appearances. His only lead role was The Adventures of Ford Fairlane in 1990 which was not successful, critically or monetarily. He has co-authored a book, recorded numerous comedy specials, and was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice (he got “fired” first of his cast). Perhaps what he is most infamous for, is getting banned for life for his 1989 appearance on the MTV movie awards. Apparently life ended in 2011, when MTV lifted the ban. Dice Clay recently had a part in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and was critically acclaimed for the role.
