First Look: Jesse Eisenberg As Lex Luthor In ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice’

Principal photography for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be over, but the film is still scheduled for a March 2016 release. With a little over 11 months left until the world sees the next chapter of DC’s cinematic universe, WB has a lot of time to promote the film. We haven’t even actually seen a true teaser trailer yet. While the anticipation is killing some, WB is starting to rollout new images of some of the newer characters being introduced to the comic film franchise.
We’ve already seen the first images for Batman and Wonder Woman last year, and NOW we are getting our first look at Jesse Eisenberg as the film’s villain, Lex Luthor. Hit the jump for more.
Entertainment Weekly provided the first image of a bald Eisenberg from the neck up, but this looks to be more of a headshot publicity still than a look at him in the film. But director Zack Snyder was kind enough to drop a few quotes for their latest piece.
“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” says Snyder, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”
Well that really doesn’t tell us much other than this will be the same character, with the only difference being Snyder’s interpretation and Eisenberg performance.
“Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake,” says Snyder. “He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
That doesn’t give us much to go on either. It is pretty much the generic dodge and deflect answering we will get until we get closer to some of the bigger promotions, we probably won’t get to see him in action until Comic-Con in San Diego this July.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, and Gal Gadot. It opens on March 25, 2016.
