Syfy has been working hard to restore the reputation for top science fiction programming they once had with plenty of new shows.
One of their upcoming new shows is titled Killjoys, and it’s about space bounty hunters! What more does one need to know? OK—if that’s not quite enough to make you commit to working it into your TV watching schedule, you can watch the first official trailer and find more information about the show and who’s starring in it below.
SYNOPSIS:
From the producers of Orphan Black (Temple Street Productions) and the creator of Lost Girl (Michelle Lovretta), Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multiplanetary class war.
Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. A top-level Killjoy, she’s a much loved and charming presence in her community, with a unique gift for earning people’s trust and respect regardless of their class. Under her banter and protective flirtations, there is a dark secret past.
Aaron Ashmore takes on the role of John Jaqobis, a peacemaker who hates conflict. Cheerful and kind-hearted, John prefers not to fight, but his sarcastic wit has put him into the fray enough over the years to teach him how to do it well, and dirty.
Luke Macfarlane stars as D’avin, a handsome, rugged, sarcastic, and incredibly loyal former soldier. He dreamed of enlisting in the military since boyhood, and his hard-won expertise in tactics, maneuvers and hand-to-hand combat make him an instant asset to the Killjoy team.
Hannah John-Kamen has previously starred in Black Mirror, Whitechapel, The Hour, and Happy Valley. She’s also voiced characters in the video games Dark Souls and Dark Souls II. Ashmore has starred in Veronica Mars, Smallvile, Lost Girl, and Warehouse 13. Macfarlane is known from Brothers & Sisters, Over There, and Satisfaction.
Killjoys premieres on June 19th at 9PM EST on Syfy and Space Channel.
