Joss Whedon Confirms No ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Post-Credits Scene
  |  @   |

In the weeks leading up to the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the cast and crew will be making the press rounds to help promote the film. As usual one of the biggest questions surrounding the sequel is whether or not their will be a post-credits scene during the film.

These scenes have become somewhat of a staple for Marvel films, and The Avengers director Joss Whedon and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn famously withheld post-credits scenes in those movies until the last minute. So journalists will more than likely ask about the post-credits scene at the end of Age of Ultron, but unfortunately, they’re not going to get a good answer. That’s because Whedon has confirmed the sequel doesn’t have one. Hit the jump for more.

Whedon talked to EW about how special the shawarma scene was to The Avengers, and how they won’t do anything similar to it again:

“We all came at it separately””we don’t want to chase that. That was a jewel and a weird little quirk. “¦ There is nothing at the very end. And that’s not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don’t sit there for 10 minutes and then go: “˜Son of a bitch! I’ll kill them!”

While there won’t be a post-credits scene, it has been confirmed that there will be a credit tag, similar to that of the tag scenes seen in Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Here’s what Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige had to say:

“There will be a tag [a short, epilogue-like scene that pops up shortly after the credits start], but there’s not a post-post-credit scene.”

So to reiterate, there will be no post-credits scene, but there will be a tag at some point during the credits.

We still don’t know what this scene contains, but rumor has it could contain the introduction of a new character. If not, I’m sure there will be something that will bridge a gap between this film and the events of Phase 3.
